My husband Larry and I left a little town in northwest Indiana in 1976 with our two young children and moved to a little island called Sanibel. The kids were going to the island school and I bought one of the oldest gift shops on the island, which became like a third child to me, since it was my first real job after college. What fun it was getting to know residents and tourists alike. My husband met and became friends with a wonderful Florida cracker who built boats and lived on the next island of Captiva. We will always be grateful for his great wisdom he shared with us. We bought the first house we looked at upon his recommendation of the builder, which had views of the gulf from almost every window. Yes, my husband bought a boat from him too. We later moved off of the island for the sake of our children's education and a more sensible life style.
After a few other business ventures, I started my real estate career with David Swor in Eagle Ridge in 1989, which he developed as well. In 1990, he closed that office, so I moved to The Forest.
Being in The Forest for all of these years and meeting some of the world's finest people, I find it a great privilege to even get to know them and learn from their life's experiences that they have shared with me. I feel truly honored to have the personal cell phone numbers from almost every area code in the country.
This almost sounds like a fond farewell, but it isn't. It is just an update from my bio written so many years ago and the picture, well, no one would recognize me from that.
So, many, many thanks to all of you wonderful clients and friends who have made me a success in this challenging and rewarding business. I am here to serve you with the utmost of integrity in all that I do.
I think that I could write a book about the unusual experiences and incredible people and it would be a best seller, but I would have to be retired first.
My special grand daughters give me the greatest joy especially on our girl's trips for birthdays. Since I know my limitations, our grand son has not joined in on our trips yet.
